Porosity 2025

Porosity explores the permeable boundaries between interior and exterior, revealing how the spaces we inhabit are never fully sealed. The project reflects on the ways light, air, memory, and movement continuously filter inward, challenging the idea of the indoors as a place of isolation or containment. By bringing the outside in, it highlights how natural environments imprint themselves on our inner worlds, shaping emotional and spatial experience.

The work positions space as a responsive threshold rather than a fixed barrier, open to influence, transformation, and exchange. Through subtle shifts and layered impressions, Porosity invites viewers to reconsider the relationship between their surroundings and their sense of self. Embracing permeability becomes a way of acknowledging connection, an acceptance that what lies beyond our walls inevitably enters, informs, and expands us. Turner creates an immersive installation in a small room to heighten this sensory exchange, surrounding viewers with sound and imagery until the experience becomes overwhelming and encompassing.
