Whitby Abbey
Whitby Abbey is a historic ruin located on the cliffs overlooking the town of Whitby in North Yorkshire, England. Originally founded in the 7th century, the abbey played an important role in early English Christianity and later became a large Benedictine monastery. The remains that stand today date mainly from the 13th century and are known for their tall Gothic arches and dramatic stonework.
These photos were inspired by the history of the building and showing the nature of the remains still standing. By taking these photos I was able to experiment taking landscape photos and working with a crowded place outdoors.
